Residential New Construction Electrician

Palmer Electric is currently seeking Electricians to be part of our Residential Construction Team in the Greater Orlando area.

What will be my responsibilities?

• Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in residential new construction homes in compliance with NEC code.
• Read and interpret specifications, blueprints, work orders, manuals, and written instructions.
• Comply with prescribed safety procedures.
• Utilize a variety of power & hand tools and other testing equipment.
• Work on all types of ladders and operate lifts.

What skills are needed for success?

• Applicable apprenticeships or Military experience a plus.
• 2+ years of electrical experience required.
• Comfortable and enjoys working in a physical role both indoors/outdoors as well as various weather conditions
• Ability to use power/hand tools and lift materials weighing about 50 pounds.
• Team player who is reliable and dependable along with a strong worth ethic and a can- do attitude.
• Driver’s license in good standing.

Security Systems/Fire Alarm Low Voltage Technician

Palmer Electric is currently seeking Technicians for their Low Voltage Service for our Fire & Security Business line.

As a Fire & Security Technician, you will perform installations, wiring and connectivity for low voltage cables. This position will support our residential and commercial clients in the greater Orlando area.

What will be my responsibilities?

• Install and troubleshoot CCTV, Burglar Alarm, Nurse Call, & Fire Alarm systems indoors and outside.
• Be familiar with NFPA 72, common installation methods, and techniques.
• Examine low voltage systems and their components, diagnose problems, recommend solutions, and implement corrections.
• Read and interpret specifications, blueprints, work orders, manuals, and written instructions.
• Comply with prescribed safety procedures.
• Be able to use a variety of power tools and testing equipment
• Work on all types of ladders and operate lifts.

What skills are needed for success?

• High School/GED required.
• Vocational Technical training is highly desired. (Electrical)

Service Electrician

With over 70 years of experience in electrical services, Palmer Electric is a stable and reputable company that provides innovative solutions to all electrical needs.

What will be my responsibilities?

• •Examining electrical systems and components, diagnosing problems, recommending solutions, and implementing corrections.
• Planning and coordinating activities for yourself and others, teaching skills to others by example and explanation.
• Preparing wiring sketches, measuring, pulling wire, splicing wires, and connecting power cables.
• Negotiating directly with customers, while adhering to prescribed safety procedures.
• Utilizing a variety of power tools and testing equipment. Reading and interpreting specifications, blueprints, work orders, manuals, and written instructions.
• Working on all types of ladders and operating lifts, as well as digging trenches.

What skills are needed for success?

• A minimum of 5 years of electrical service experience in commercial, residential, and/or industrial fields.
• Significant knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70), common installation methods, and techniques.
• Basic electrical controls experience with motor controls preferred.
• The ability to use power tools, lift materials weighing about 50 pounds, and work both productively and safely to achieve company goals and objectives.
• Written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Experience installing and servicing generators is a plus.
• A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma/GED.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Identify and grow sales opportunities with skilled nursing facilities, surgery centers, and other healthcare and commercial clients across Greater Orlando, the Space Coast, Tampa Bay, and Jacksonville.
• Present Palmer Electric’s low voltage solutions, including Nurse Call Systems, Fire Alarms & Life Safety, Access Control, Security Systems, and monitoring services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, property and facility managers, healthcare professionals, and other key decision-makers.
• Represent Palmer Electric at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to build visibility and expand your network.
• Work closely with internal teams on estimates, system designs, and project handoffs to ensure a smooth client experience.
• Manage your sales pipeline and forecasting, keeping everything organized and up to date.
• Collaborate with leadership to help shape and execute growth strategies for the Low Voltage Division.

What You Bring

• 4+ years of successful sales/business development experience, ideally selling products and services to healthcare facilities, construction, electrical or property management industries.
• Familiarity with low voltage systems (Call Systems, Fire Alarms, Access Control, etc.) is a plus.
• A self-starter with strong follow-through who’s comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• A valid driver’s license and the flexibility to travel throughout your territory.
• Must be based in the Greater Orlando area.
