Residential New Construction Electrician

What will be my responsibilities?
- Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in residential new construction homes in compliance with NEC code.
- Read and interpret specifications, blueprints, work orders, manuals, and written instructions.
- Comply with prescribed safety procedures.
- Utilize a variety of power & hand tools and other testing equipment.
- Work on all types of ladders and operate lifts.
What skills are needed for success?
- Applicable apprenticeships or Military experience a plus.
- 2+ years of electrical experience required.
- Comfortable and enjoys working in a physical role both indoors/outdoors as well as various weather conditions
- Ability to use power/hand tools and lift materials weighing about 50 pounds.

As a Fire & Security Technician, you will perform installations, wiring and connectivity for low voltage cables. This position will support our residential and commercial clients in the greater Orlando area.

- Be familiar with NFPA 72, common installation methods, and techniques.
- Examine low voltage systems and their components, diagnose problems, recommend solutions, and implement corrections.
- Read and interpret specifications, blueprints, work orders, manuals, and written instructions.
- Comply with prescribed safety procedures.
- Be able to use a variety of power tools and testing equipment
- Work on all types of ladders and operate lifts.

About Us:
Palmer Electric Company is a well-established electrical contracting company specializing in high-quality residential and commercial service work. We pride ourselves on integrity, reliability, and craftsmanship. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team and help us manage projects valued up to $200,000.
Position Overview:
The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for residential and light commercial electrical service projects. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong knowledge of electrical systems, local code requirements, and cost estimating.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial projects (not exceeding $200K)
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Perform material and labor takeoffs
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
- Collaborate with project managers and field staff to ensure seamless handoff and execution
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing
- Participate in bid reviews and pre-construction meetings
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in service-based projects
- Strong understanding of residential and commercial electrical systems
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, or equivalent) and Microsoft products.
- Familiarity with NEC, local codes, and industry standards
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license (a plus, not required)
- Experience with project management or field supervision is beneficial
